I think this might benefit from a changelog entry because running the tests is something that not just we internally do. Seeing this mentioned in the change log might even point some people to the tests who don't know about them yet and might benefit from them.
If there are several related issues (I lost track), feel free to make a combined changelog entry, but it should reference all issues.
(Whereas I think autodoc is sufficiently internal not to require a changelog entry.) Otherwise the pull request looks good.
