There was an unresolved aspect from the pull request (hidden in an "outdated conversation") that we wanted to discuss later but didn't get to. This was about not allocating memory for domain size 1. David will open a new issue on this.

I had a look. As I commented on Github, I think the change in the output should be documented in the commit message as it could break existing parsers. For the change regarding IntPacker, I suspect that this is the wrong place to fix but I'm not sure if I understood the issue.
